HER LAST SUMMER AT PORTHLEVEN LIFEBOAT DAY
HER LAST SUMMER AT PORTHLEVEN LIFEBOAT DAY. Drawing by Nick Langdon. Derived from an extremely faded colour photo taken sometime in August 1981, and reinvented as a summer symphony of colours using 42 Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils. It depicts the Penlee lifeboat Solomon Browne at the annual Lifeboat day in Porthleven Harbour, which proved to be her last appearance at that event, as some four months later she was lost with all hands when rescuing the crew of the Union Star, who all also perished.
ODE TO THE RNLI
Regardless of what the sea will impart
They are always ready with a brave heart
To selflessly aid all in jeopardy at sea
As that is how they deem it should be
For service not self is their prevailing motto.

30% of the profit of sales will go into the RNLI general funds. On Launch A Memory prints the names should be legible on individual letter products with an image size of A4 (210x297mm) and above. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee you will see your loved ones name on all products as the writing may be too small. But their name will be in there, along with the names of others who are fondly remembered every day - and whose memory will launch to the rescue every time lifeboat crew are needed at sea.
